The original house in Camberwell was built in the 1970s in a Neo Georgian style. The Clients required an entertaining area for their teenage children and a separate Bedroom/ Bathroom/ Laundry for guests or grandparents. The new area was to be quite separate from the original house but linked visually by the shared entertaining area.
A large pool formed part of the proposal for the rear with
a substantial semi glazed pergola linking the existing house,
and the addition. The feature wall along the pool, together
with all the columns, has been specially illuminated to achieve
a spectacular night time effect. Special self-closing doors
and security was incorporated to avoid unsightly pool fencing.
The Design has maintained the original classical lines and
features of the existing house.

The brief for this home was to bring the materials and finishes of the house up to date and ensure that all materials used would remain timeless.
The walls and ceiling colours throughout the home are light
in colour, relying on the timber floors, kitchen joinery and
furniture to radiate the 'warmth' from the natural richness
of woodwork. Large 900 x 450mm porcelain tiles were used in
the Kitchen area to replicate large stone slabs.
There is an abundance of natural light throughout the house,
and sculptural forms have been used to enclose the rear stairwell
and screen the entry area.
